Ports Settings
The ports settings panel allows to configure the
parallel port (for the printer) and the serial
ports (for the modem).
blueMSX detects automatically all your compatible
DirectX ports and devices.
Parallel
ports (implemented only for MSX
and SVI machines) |
|
|
Port |
|
If you have
a printer connected to your PC, blueMSX
will detect it and display the port (LPT)
in the first droplist.
Other options allow to
- connect to the printer port a SiMPL /
Covox DAC device that will produce audio
samples in some applications;
- send the result of a print operation to
a text file. |
|
|
|
Filename |
|
Allows to
indicate the location and the name of the
text file in which the result of a print
operation will come.
By default, the location is the blueMSX
directory and the name is printer.dat. |
|
|
|
Emulation |
|
Allows to
choose between an Epson FX-80 printer, a
MSX printer and a SVI printer. |
When printing to a real printer
using one of the emulated printers, a whole page
needs to be filled before the page is sent to the
printer. To switch to next page, you can use the
shortcut LCtrl+LSft+P, the printer form
will advance to the top of the next page.
Printing to a file will lock the file while the
emulator is running because it keeps the file
open. So you need to close the emulator and the
printing to a file will then begin.
Serial
ports (this part of the emulator
is not yet fully implemented) |
